Today’s fluke trip was quite productive, despite some less than ideal conditions. The wind never let up and this made for a very fast drift throughout the day. The first half of the day was slow but captain John put us on the meat, and a string of productive drifts in the second half allowed our anglers to scrape together a very respectable catch. We had one limit today and another angler had four nice keepers by the time we were done. We also released several large sea bass which is an encouraging sign for when the season opens in a few weeks. The boat will be sailing tomorrow for fluke at 7 AM.
We sailed for squid on Friday and Saturday night and both trips were very productive. Large tubes were flocking to the lights, and several anglers managed full buckets of premium, sushi grade squids. We plan on running squid trips on friday and Saturday nights as long as squid continue to cooperate.
